Charlotte A. Alexander

Miss Charlotte A. Alexander brought small parties of girls from her Girl's Training Home at The Red Cottage, Great Warley, Brentwood, England to Canada. She gave Marchmont, in Belleville, Ontario, as her receiving home. She placed many of her girls in the Toronto area.

Parties

The following groups have been extracted from passenger lists (and appear in order given on passenger list). The 'C-nnnn' number you see refers to the microfilm number, from the Library and Archives of Canada, on which the passenger lists was found. An 'a' in the age field means adult.

C-4535 - The party sailed on the SS Corean, Captain Charles J. Menzies, from London, England, on May 6, 1887, stopped at Plymouth, England, on May 8, 1887, and arrived at Quebec on May 19, 1887. The vessel was owned by the Montreal Ocean Steamship Company (Allan Line) and the agent listed the following special party: "Miss Alexander's party of girls from Sutton, Surrey to Toronto (16)-Mrs. Rose Wallace, Matron in charge List Number: 15. Toronto. Through per C.P.R. Miss Alexander Sutton, Surry [sic] going to her home 51 Northcote Avenue, Toronto (Miss A. is at Toronto at present)."
